After weeks of waiting for CyanogenMod OS 12 (CM12S
in short :D) update for OnePlus One users,
it has finally released now. This guide will help you out in updating your
Android Lollipop v5 to CM12S.
ABOUT THE
RELEASE:-
The company has tried even more to make your phone
actually “yours”. “Sweetest” is what they call the new CM12S.
In this latest Lollipop
release for OnePlus One, there is a new feature called App Themer, which gives
its users more personalization for Themes. There is now even more themes to
choose from (from both Free and Premium).
There
is also a built in Cyanogen Email app, which is powered by a leading company
“Boxer”. The company promises to provide all premium features to its Cyanogen
OS users given to the premium Boxer Email app users with Even More
Customizations.
Let’s just directly move to the Instructions part.
INSTRUCTIONS:-
NOTE-
This
update works with both Locked and Unlocked Boot loaders. For those who actually
don’t know the difference between the two, just follow the Instruction Part.
Instructions
for Default Boot Loader:-
NO DATA WILL BE LOST USING THIS METHOD
THIS METHOD MAY
WORK FOR OXYGEN OS OR CM12 NIGHTLY.
1.
Download the update file (link given
below).
2.
Copy the .zip file you just downloaded to
the internal storage (NOT INSIDE ANY FOLDER).
3.
Power Off your phone now.
4.
Now press & hold “Power” and “Volume
Down” button together, it would get you to the recovery section of your phone.
5.
Select “Apply Update” option (If screen
is not working use ‘Volume Up’ and ‘Volume Down’ button to navigate).
6.
Now select “Choose from internal
storage”. Then select “0/”, it is the Internal Storage. Select ‘Yes’ if
prompts.
7.
Now press “restart”[then “First
option”(if asks)].
Instructions
for TWRP Installers having Oxygen OS or CM12 Nightly
ALL PHONE DATA (like contacts, messages, etc) WILL BE LOST USING THIS METHOD. So, it
would be better to keep everything backed up.
UPDATE TWRP TO LATEST VERSION BEFORE PROCEEDING.
1.
Download the update file (link given
bellow).
2.
Place that .zip file that you just
downloaded to the internal storage root folder.
3.
Power Off your phone now.
4.
Now press & hold “Power” and “Volume
Down” button together, it would get you to TWRP Recovery.
5.
FOR OXYGEN OS Users- Select ‘Wipe’-
‘Advanced Wipe’ – ‘Dalvik cache, System, Data and Cache’. Then swipe to wipe.
FOR CM12 NIGHTLY Users- Select
‘Wipe’- ‘Swipe to factory reset’.
6.
Now, wait until the installation is
complete, and then Reboot System.
